78th Independence Day Celebrated with Grandeur at MVGR
MVGR Engineering College marked the 78th Independence Day with grand celebrations, featuring the inaugural parade of all four contingents—NCC Boys, NCC Girls, CLAD Commandos, and the NSS Unit. This year’s event was particularly special as it was the first parade appearance for the NCC Girls, CLAD Commandos, and NSS Unit.
The event was inaugurated by the college’s Director, Prof. P. Seetharamaraju, who hoisted the National Flag. In his address, Prof. Seetharamaraju emphasized the importance of the youth in preserving the nation’s culture and heritage. He urged the students to reflect on their contributions to the country, encouraging them to think about their role in its progress, rather than questioning what the country has provided for them. "It is our responsibility to preserve and carry forward the heritage values and culture of this nation," he stated.
The event saw participation from prominent college figures, including Principal Dr. R. Ramesh, Vice Principal Dr. Y. M. C. Sekhar, College NCC and NSS Coordinator Dr. M. Anil Prakash, Student Extension Activities Convener Dr. D. Ramadevi, CLAD Coordinator Prof. K. Sobha Rani, NCC Senior Division Caretaker Officer Dr. G. Pramod Kumar, NCC Senior Wing Caretaker Officer Ms. M. Vasanthi, along with Heads of Departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, and their families.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, students performed patriotic songs and dances, making the Independence Day celebrations even more memorable. As a tribute to the occasion, the Director and Principal planted saplings, symbolizing the college’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
The students took pride in capturing the day’s moments with the contingents and faculty, marking the event as a grand success.
